Despite finding the 3 weeks of quickfire skills to be very intense, I felt really impressed seeing the final work I produced at the end of each week. It also made me a lot more confident in the skills that will be required for working in art departments in the future. My favourite skill was model-making, and I enjoyed the challenge of finding quick ways to produce the more intricate details of the building using flat card. It also helped immensely when it came time to make a more complicated model in an equally intense time limit for the Blood Wedding project. Anticipating the amount of measuring that we would have to do at the start, I bought a laser measurer as I have had previous experience replicating architecture for work and knew how tedious it could be using only a measuring tape, but I still missed out several measurements and had to go back to re-measure certain parts of the building before I could move on to the drawing board.
Some of the measurements I recorded. At times it was useful to make my own sketches to convey small details.

Final White-Card Model of Arboretum Cafe
For the final visual, i used 3D modelling to block out general shapes of the cafe and crater and figure out my general layout. I think I lost a lot of detail by making my overall scene too dark.
